Monte Gordo Sand Race returns in November with new features and an even bigger track

After the success of the inaugural edition in 2023, the Monte Gordo Sand Race returns from November 22 to 24, 2024 for the second edition of this event that brings the stars of sand racing to Portugal on motorcycles and quads.

Monte Gordo beach will once again host the FIM Sand Racing World Cup, with a revamped track and a program packed with entertainment throughout the weekend, according to the Vila Real de Santo António municipality.

The news about the event was revealed on Tuesday 1st by the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António and the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP), who are expecting a new flood in the bay of Monte Gordo.

Under the auspices of the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) and the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation (FMP), the Monte Gordo Sand Race promises to be a great event once again, with some of the best motorcycle and quad riders in the world taking part.

Represented by the Mayor, Álvaro Araújo, and the Councillor for Sport, Álvaro Leal, the Vila Real de Santo António council announced an even more diversified program for this edition, reinforcing the concept of a true motorsport festival, benefiting from the excellent natural conditions and hotel offer of Monte Gordo bay.
